Hanpoong Pharm & Foods announced on December 27th that Professor Lee Sang Kook of College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University was awarded the 15th Hanpoong Sang-Am Pharmacognosy Prize.
Prof. Lee has served on the board of directors in the Korean Society of Pharmacognosy in such positions as the president and an auditor for several years, and organized and attended the society’s conferences and events.
In addition, he has published and presented many research papers in the society’s journals including Korean Journal of Pharmacognosy and Natural Product Sciences.
The Hanpoong Sang-Am Pharmacognosy Prize was established in 2008 to commemorate the achievements of the late Dr. Jo Pilhyeong, Sang-Am who was the founder of Hanpoong Pharm & Foods and had developed the technology of granulation of herbal medicine for the first time.
It has been awarded every year to a researcher who has made outstanding achievements in the areas of pharmacognosy and natural product science and contributed substantially to the science of herbal medicine.
